This race is one of two Heels and Hills annual events - the other is the Heels and Hills Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile Fun Run, with our fifth anniversary of that signature event on May 6, 2012.
The signature Heels and Hills event, Heels and Hills Half in May, is extremely focused on our core audience (getting women fit), although men can participate - however, the event colors are hot pink, there's a high heel and a girl running in the logo, and men can not win awards in the main event, the half marathon!
We started to hear from both women and men who wanted to bring the same untimidating atmosphere to more men in their lives, so Heels and Hills and Him Half was developed to be a slightly more co-ed event - men can win awards in all events, and the event logo is blue with a boy and a cowboy boot! But the focus is still on fun and a friendly race atmosphere!

:
Since we have onsite parking capability, there will not be a bag drop area.
Timing chips will be available at packet pickup Friday and Saturday, and then race day morning at packet pickup only from 6:00-7:15 am (note: first race starts at 7:30, so arrive early!).
We will again be using the IPICO chip timing system. The IPICO RFID timing system works by reading your start and finish times when you cross over the mats at the start/finish line.
This flat IPICO chip/tag is attached to your shoe flat against the shoelaces. You don't have to unlace your shoes, just slip the laces through the holes and tie your shoe normally. This saves on so many pieces of plastic chip tie waste!
These chips are reusable. After the race, please return your chip. We'll have volunteers there with white buckets to collect the chip from you.
If you own a ChampionChip, it will not work with this system.
All events except the 1 Mile are chip timed.
A couple years ago, the City of Irving asked Heels and Hills to showcase their beautiful Campion Trails, and we're happy to work with them as the city paved trail weaves through woods, along the city canal system, by ponds, and beautiful neighborhoods! The course features these trails and the streets in the Las Colinas Blvd / Williams Square area.
The 5K and 10K is a shortened version of the half marathon course.
We do not publish a course map or elevation chart. USAT&F Course: TX11059ETM
Walker-friendly time limit of 4 hours (that's a pace of 18 minutes per mile for the half marathon).
5K, 10K and Half Marathon Entrants: Gender-specific (men's versus women's sizing) technical fabric dry-wicking running shirt!
1 Mile Entrants: Cotton race t-shirt available in Youth and Adult sizes for the first 300 registered.
Choices are available while supplies last. We will remove choices of sizes and styles as we run out of inventory, since shirts have to ordered months in advance based on a guess of what sizes and styles will be chosen.
