In the past, we've challenged our Heels and Hills fans on our very active Heels and Hills Facebook Fan Page to get out and get active and accumulate 131 miles as a group over the weekend.
July 10-12, 2009 weekend challenge - runners and walkers accumulated 356 miles!
September 12-13, 2009 weekend challenge - runners and walkers accumulated 856 miles!
So this time, we are upping the ante! For Friday, January 29, through Sunday, January 31, we are challenging our runners and walkers to get active and help us reach a total of 519 miles in one weekend!
Why 519? Because that would be each Facebook fan, of which we have 1,038, completing just half a mile.
For the September 2009 challenge, participants Jennifer Adauto summed it up well, "12.5 miles on Sunday! Only scheduled for 12, but this HH Challenge pushed me an extra .5 miles today in the rain."
We hope this will help serve as some extra motivation to get out the door if you need the encouragement, or get in that little half a mile. Today, everyone counts, every portion of a mile counts! Thank you for being a part of Heels and Hills! We'll post the list of participants and all of our totals here at the end of the weekend!
