The Dallas Running Club Half Marathon was November 1, 2009, and Heels and Hills was out there with our hot pink tent intensely cheering for all the runners and walkers participating in the half marathon. We were located on White Rock Lake in Dallas around mile 11.5 of the course (this is where the Dreyfuss Club building was until it burnt down a few years ago if you are familiar with the area) – it was a great place to give everyone that last bit of encouragement!
We know how much the participants appreciated the sounds of the group's yells and ringing cowbells, plus we quickly went through a 3 pound bag of gummy bears!
"Thanks for being out there cheering! It always lifts my spirits to see folks encouraging the runners esp so late in a race." -- April B.
"Thanks! It was exactly when I needed it!" -- Rebecca C.
"Thanks so much for being there for us...I too got excited when I saw the H&H tent, in fact, I was looking for it needing much needed cheering; thanks for the shout outs. I don't remember responding but just know it was greatly appreciated." -- Jose V.
