Overview | How to Earn Back Your Entry Fee | A Successful 2009 | About BBBS
For 2010, Heels and Hills Half Marathon will continue its partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas. Heels and Hills established a partnership with this youth mentoring organization in 2009 as a recipient of fundraising proceeds from the event.
In 2006, Paula Robertson founded the Heels and Hills, Inc., a non-profit organization, to promote and increase involvement in women's fitness for both first-timers and seasoned professionals. She began the event to encourage women to improve their personal fitness levels. She’s pleased that the event that she created to improve the lives of women has evolved into an event that benefits children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
“The Heels and Hills event encourages and empowers people to improve themselves by setting goals and achieving them,” said Robertson. “We are very excited this year to continue our partnership with an organization that encourages and empowers children to do the same. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that we all can relate to and we are proud to be running for the sake of children.”
Through this partnership, runners in the Heels and Hills event have the ability to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters through individual sponsorships. To sponsor a runner, click here. Big Brothers Big Sisters in turn will help runners "earn back" their race entry fee through the fundraising that they do for the great cause!

Big Brothers Big Sisters places caring adults in the lives of children in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Through the positive impact of those friendships, children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school and are less likely to begin using drugs, begin using alcohol or engage in negative conflict.
